My first husband was unfaithful many times and we were divorced after 40 years of marriage. I felt my life had ended as I had to return from Brazil, my home for 20 years. I didn’t know what God intended me to learn, nor that He knew a godly man in Portland who would become a widower and need me.
When I married Joe in 1991, I expected to live in Portland OR the rest of my life. But I DIDN’T KNOW THE WHOLE STORY. That God would take us toBrazil where we lived and taught for 12 years. We both loved it!
Then God allowed ill health to cause our return to the US in 2011 and 2012. Drastic changes. I had three brain surgeries for hydrocephalus (water on the brain)… with time, I improved.
Joe’s heart problems increased – and the Lord took him home on Feb 8, 2017. Once again, WE DON’T KNOW THE WHOLE STORY.
I received my Brazilian citizenship in Dec. 2017. I planned to return to Brazil to stay in 2018. My children are concerned about me doing this (in August, I’ll be 86; which has advantages and disadvantages. ) … I MISS JOE! my life is turned upside down.
I’ve received two invitations to teach in Brazil the latter part of the year. I’m learning on a daily basis. I’m working on finishing a book (a totally new experience!)
AND I KNOW THAT I DON’T KNOW THE WHOLE STORY.
I sense that God is going to turn everything upside again as His plans will become my plans. I have NO idea what He is going to do! But an eagerness to know is beginning within me.
“ALL things will be turned into blessings for those who love the Lord and are walking in His purposes.”
WE MAY NOT KNOW THE WHOLE STORY, BUT WE KNOW HIM.
How about you? are you also walking without knowing the whole story? Can you and I trust Him as He writes it?
