Negative words are like garbage…

Audible, Chatting, Billboards, TV, radio, on the street, in the stores, on the phones.

The WORDS never stop. Sometimes I want to run away from them. At times, I DO HIDE FROM THEM.

I like what this snapshot says.

I have some questions.
1/ Have you ever wondered what happens to ALL those words?

Let’s think a minute.  Do words ever disappear?  After a word is audibly spoken, what happens to it?
I can think of several things.
1/ We keep hearing it again in our memory.
2/ It goes out into the atmosphere around us.  The sound never disappears – it simply goes beyond our capacity to hear it.
Those ANGRY words or the LOVING words continue on – and the God of the universe hears them. Does He keep a record of these words?

More questions:

Do I want to hear again those words I spoke in anger?  What would my world be like if I were constantly hearing my own words spoken again and again?
Would the words bombarding my mind be more negative or positive?

“Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me” is an ABSOLUTE LIE.  Words do hurt us!  Ask verbally abused people and see what they say about words?     You and I have the power to terribly damage others with our words.

My dad always stressed to my brother and I to not speak in anger. Wait until the anger had passed before we responded to or spoke into a situation.
He, himself, followed what he taught us.  I could tell he was angry by a certain tone of voice. He never spoke angry words: but when I heard that tone of voice I moved a little more quickly to obey.

Raised in that atmosphere was good!  However, I painfully learned that most marriages don’t follow those rules. When one tries to and the partner could care less, it can be very painful.

How can we protect ourselves from the hurtful words of others?
And – How can I control my tongue, so I don’t hurt others?

Overly simplified answers.

If I am cursed?
Proverbs 26:2Amplified Bible (AMP). 2. Like the sparrow in her wandering, like the swallow in her flying, So the curse without cause does not come and alight [on the undeserving] “
Are there some who DO deserve curses? Who are they? Does that ever include me?

Controlling my tongue?
Ephesians 4:15Amplified Bible
(AMP). 15 But speaking the truth in love [in all things—both our speech and our lives expressing His truth], let us grow up in all things into Him [following His example] who is the Head—Christ.” What does this really mean? How can I speak the truth in love?  Especially since James tells me the tongue is the most uncontrollable part of the body?

Have you ever wondered about these questions like I have?

In the next two posts I’m going to tackle these two questions, one at a time.
We’ll see if I find answers, or only create more questions.?
